Apple Ads

Connect Apple Ads for keyword popularity.

OpenASO uses Apple Ads to enrich keyword tracks with popularity scores.

When to connect

Connect Apple Ads when you want to see keyword popularity in keyword tables, keyword details, and exports.

Your Apple Ads account must be fully set up, including payment or tax information, and must be able to access at least one of your App Store apps. Apple requires this account setup before popularity data is available.

Fetching popularity is free. OpenASO does not create campaigns, create ads, edit your Apple Ads account, or charge your payment card. The Apple Ads account is only used to read keyword popularity.

If OpenASO cannot detect the app automatically, Settings will ask for the App Store ID of one of your apps. Enter your real App Store ID there; any sample value shown in the field is only a placeholder.

Connect Apple Ads

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to the Apple Ads section.
  3. Click Connect Apple Ads.
  4. Complete sign-in and two-factor authentication if Apple asks.
  5. Wait for OpenASO to confirm the connection.

After Apple Ads is connected, refresh keywords to fill in popularity scores. If refreshed keywords still fail with Setup required, check that the account has payment or tax information on file and that Settings has the correct App Store ID for your app.

If you connected Apple Ads before completing the account setup above, clear the Apple Ads session in Settings and sign in again. Reconnecting after the account has payment or tax information and the correct App Store ID lets OpenASO pick up the updated Apple Ads state.

Saved login

Saved login is optional. If you save it, OpenASO keeps the login details in Keychain so reconnecting Apple Ads is faster later. You can forget the saved login from Settings at any time.

Keep it connected

Apple may expire the connection. If popularity stops updating, open Settings and use Check Status or Connect Apple Ads again.

Popularity values are reused for a short period, so a refresh may keep an existing value instead of fetching it again immediately.

Troubleshooting

  • Not connected: connect Apple Ads in Settings.
  • Session expired: connect Apple Ads again and complete Apple sign-in.
  • Setup required: make sure the Apple Ads account has payment or tax information on file, clear the Apple Ads session in Settings, then click Connect Apple Ads again and sign in.
  • No linked apps: enter the App Store ID for one of your apps, or use an Apple Ads account that can access your App Store apps. You do not need to create a campaign or ad for the app.
