Track keywords
Create keyword tracks and read ranking movement.
Add keyword tracks
Open the app detail view and choose the add keyword action. Paste keywords as separate lines or comma-separated text, then select the countries to track.
OpenASO creates tracks for each keyword and storefront pair. Existing pairs are detected by normalized keyword and storefront, so duplicates are not inserted.
Ranking refresh
When a track refreshes, OpenASO:
- Searches the App Store for the keyword, storefront, and platform.
- Matches the tracked app against the returned result list.
- Stores a ranking snapshot with the matched rank, result count, source, and timestamp.
- Stores the top ranked apps for the snapshot.
- Updates derived keyword and competitor stats.
Keyword table
The keyword table includes:
- Keyword and country.
- Last updated timestamp.
- Popularity and difficulty metrics.
- Current position.
- Trend over the selected date range.
- Apps in ranking.
- Notes.
- Chart inclusion controls.
Filters
Use the toolbar filters to narrow by popularity, difficulty, position, movement, changed keywords, date range, and storefront.
Ranking list
Open Apps in Ranking to inspect the ranked apps returned for a keyword snapshot. This is useful for competitor review and for confirming that a missing rank is caused by the app not appearing in the returned search page.
