Common issues

Troubleshoot setup, refresh, and data problems.

App search returns no results

Confirm the selected storefront is correct and try the numeric App Store ID. Some app names are ambiguous or localized differently by storefront.

Keyword rank is missing

A missing rank means the tracked app was not found in the returned ranking results for that keyword, storefront, and platform. Open Apps in Ranking to inspect what the search provider returned.

Popularity does not load

Open Settings and check the Apple Ads connection state.

  • Setup required: install or repair Node.js and Playwright dependencies.
  • Session expired: refresh the Apple Ads session and complete sign-in.
  • No linked apps: make sure the Apple Ads account has a campaign-linked app.
  • Apple Ads API issue: retry later or reconnect the session.

Daily refresh did not run

Check that automatic refresh is enabled, the configured local time has passed, and OpenASO has been launched since the schedule was configured.

CSV import skips rows

OpenASO skips duplicate keyword and storefront combinations. Check for whitespace differences, repeated keywords, and country selections that already exist for the selected app.

Data appears stale

Use manual refresh for the selected app. Some metrics, such as Apple Ads popularity, are cached and reused for a period to avoid unnecessary provider calls.
